Mr. M was falsely accused of murder after his close friend was stabbed, during an armed robbery incident gone wrong. Despite being the victim in this instance, our client was arrested and charged with murder. Following a lengthy investigation, and many trials that were delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our client’s freedom was finally secured, after we successfully proved his innocence.

Mr. M and his friend, Mr. B were on their way to attend a friend’s birthday when they were stopped by two of their own friends – the victim and another common friend. In a desperate situation, the victim attempted to rob Mr M and Mr B. Determined to protect his property, Mr B had a knife of his own, and in the resulting altercation, the victim was stabbed. Unfortunately, he passed away at the hospital – leaving Mr M and Mr B facing very serious charges of murder

Fearful for his future and determined to prove his innocence from the murder charges, Mr M contacted us to represent him. Our murder solicitors immediately sprang into action, to uncover the truth of the matter. They began their investigation by meticulously analysing all evidence submitted by the police and the prosecution, to search for any inconsistencies or biases against our client. Following this, they conducted their own thorough legal investigation, which included analysing all CCTV footage of the surrounding area, gathering witness statements from those who were present and the friends present at the birthday party, gathering character statements to prove our client’s character, and holding lengthy conferences with our client to determine the best course of action, and to uncover every single detail about the case.

The investigation revealed that the murder charges were patently false. Our client had not committed any offence, but was almost the victim of one. This was backed up by witness statements from other members, proving that the victim’s act was premeditated, though the others initially thought it was a joke, and didn’t realise he was being serious. Furthermore, character statements proved that our client was very close to the defendant, and was devastated after his passing.

Following the investigation, our criminal defence solicitors submitted overwhelming evidence to the court, to prove our client’s innocence. Despite multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our murder solicitors were able to finally convince the jury of the truth, resulting in a complete acquittal of all charges.

Despite witnessing a horrific act, our client was then forced to deal with months of stress and anxiety, as the false murder allegations weighed upon him for over a year. Remember, it can take one misjudgement by the police to result in months of your life being taken away from you. If you or someone you know is in a similar situation, please don’t hesitate to contact us now. We’re here to help defend your rights and protect your interests.
