Our client, Mr. K, was wrongfully accused of arson, facing potentially severe legal consequences. Despite the daunting charges against him, our defence team fought tirelessly to prove his innocence. After a thorough legal investigation and a vigorous defence trial, the jury acquitted Mr. K of all false charges. Thanks to our determined efforts, our client can now walk free, having been exonerated from these wrongful accusations.

Mr. K and the complainant, Mr. J were childhood friends for over 15 years and had developed a close friendship. However, the two had a falling out when Mr. J developed a drug addiction, resulting in his apartment becoming a common house for drug users. After a few years of complaints, events came to a head – involving Mr. J, Mr. K and loan sharks that Mr. J had borrowed money from. This resulted in Mr. K being arrested for arson and grievous bodily harm

After contacting us to represent him in an arson case, our criminal defence solicitors immediately sprang into action, determined to uncover the truth. After closely analyzing all evidence submitted by the prosecution, our criminal defence solicitors conducted their own legal investigation to obtain objective evidence of the matter. After working with CCTV and forensic experts, gathering witness statements from friends and family members, our defence lawyers were able to piece the truth together.

Despite being friends for many years, Mr. K and Mr. J drifted apart after Mr. J developed a drug addiction, resulting in Mr. J spending more and more time with drug dealers, and losing vast amounts of money. After multiple police raids at his apartment, Mr. K was at Mr. J’s house when loan sharks approached the apartment, looking for Mr. J to pay them back. With no money, a fight broke out, and Mr. K fought them off to protect his friend, leading to his wrongful arrest for grievous bodily harm and ultimately, arson.

During the trial, our defence lawyers submitted a lengthy, detailed defence statement that highlighted our client’s history with the complainant, the complainant’s financial troubles and our client stepping in to protect him from further harm. Moved by our criminal defence solicitors’ empathetic and determined defence, the jury voted to acquit our client on both counts, allowing him to go home a free man.
